It takes; followed by a direct object, which is the thing needed. This can be anything; time, money, effort, work, the right people, energy, whatever.
It takes; seguito da un complemento oggetto che è la cosa neccessaria di cui si parla, che può essere del tempo, dei soldi, la fatica, del lavoro, della gente giusta, l’energia, ecc. Per esempio:
It takes at least two hours.
Ci vuole almeno due ore.
It won’t take more than a week.
Non ci vorra’ piu’ di una settimana.
It took a lot of effort but I finally succeeded.
Ci voleva molta fatica ma alla fine ci sono riuscito.

It takes; followed by (1) the person who is doing the action (can be a pronoun or a Name) and (2) the thing that is needed. ex)
It takes; seguito da: (1) la persona che impiega tempo o energia (può essere un pronome personale o un nome proprio) e (2) la cosa neccessaria. Per esempio:
It takes me at least two hours.
Ci vuole almeno due ore per me.
It won’t take you more than a week.
Non avrai bisogno di pi di una settimana.
It took me a lot of effort but I finally succeeded.
Ci ho messo molta fatica ma alla fine ho avuto successo.

It takes; followed by the person, the thing needed and an infinitive verb for the action to be done. Note that the infinitive particle “to” in English corresponds to “per” in Italian.
It takes seguito dalla persona, la cosa neccessaria e un verbo infinito che spiega l’azione che si fa. Il “to” davanti al verbo infinito qui si traduce con “per” davanto al verbo infinito in italiano. Per esempio:
It takes me at least two hours to open the mail every morning.
Ci metto almeno due ore per aprire la posta ogni mattino.
It won’t take Nino more than a week to finish that assignment.
Nino non metterai più di una settimana per finire quel compito.
It took me a lot of effort to understand her.
Ci ho messo molta fatica per capirla.

It takes; followed only by the thing needed and the infinitive verb. ex)
It takes; seguito soltanto dalla cosa necessaria e il verbo infinito. Per esempio:
It takes two hours to get from here to there.
Ci vuole due ore per andare da qua a la’.
It won’t take a week to finish.
Non ci vorrà più di una settimana per finire.
It took a long time to understand her.
Ci voleva molto tempo per capirla.

It won’t take long.
